CELEBRATING DIVERSITY, BONDING AS ONE
Unlike anywhere else in the world, Indian New Year celebrations in Singapore are about our different local Indian ethnic groups coming together to ring in their respective New Year's Day. An initiative started in 2010 by then-Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, these joint celebrations showcase the close-knit fabric of Singapore's Indian community in a way that is truly Singaporean.
For Indian New Year 2021, we are delighted to have 16 local Indian communities joining in this 11th edition, each bringing their own unique cultural flavour to the celebrations!
